Mosques, community gatherings, and charitable initiatives set to mark the holy month
DUBAI – Ramadan 2026 in the United Arab Emirates began on the evening of Tuesday, February 18, with the first fast to be observed on Wednesday, February 19.
Muslims across the country are preparing for a month of spiritual reflection, fasting, and community worship.
Suhoor and Iftar timings have been calculated according to local astronomical observations, and mosques in every emirate are organising special prayers, Quranic recitations, and communal Iftars.
Abu Dhabi
Mosques across the capital are ready to host Taraweeh prayers and educational programmes. Special arrangements for social and charitable activities have also been made to mark the holy month.
Al Ain
As part of Abu Dhabi emirate, Al Ain will host special prayers and community events, including Iftar gatherings and awareness campaigns on the significance of Ramadan.
Dubai
In Dubai, mosques including iconic locations in Bur Dubai and Deira will hold nightly Taraweeh prayers. Community centres and charitable organisations are preparing Iftar meals for underprivileged families.
Sharjah
Sharjah’s mosques are decorated for Ramadan, and a series of Quranic lessons and lectures are planned throughout the month to engage the local and expatriate Muslim population.
Khor Fakkan
Khor Fakkan, part of Sharjah emirate, will observe Ramadan with local mosque programmes and community-led Iftar arrangements, tailored to accommodate the city’s residents and visitors.
Ajman
Ajman will continue its tradition of hosting community Iftars and encouraging welfare programmes for those in need during the month of fasting.
Umm Al Quwain
Mosques in Umm Al Quwain are set to provide serene spaces for worshippers, and charitable initiatives will focus on feeding the needy and supporting social causes.
Ras Al Khaimah
Ras Al Khaimah will offer a mix of spiritual and cultural programmes, with special emphasis on Taraweeh prayers and Quranic study circles across the emirate.
Fujairah
Fujairah’s mosques are ready for nightly prayers, with community-driven initiatives ensuring collective participation in charitable and religious activities.
